Designer hotel with an EXCELLENT breakfast selection. We were moved to a premium triple room and had central heating, a sitting area and a writing table. In the center of the city, very convenient. Variety of restaurants to eat close by, like Da Daniele that was only 10 minutes' walk away.

Featuring free WiFi, this down-to-earth hotel is a Solothurn institution and a popular spot for bon vivants. The entire Baseltor team, including Buphahak Phetxomphou and Pia Camponovo, look forward to your visit. I must say, the cuisine at their restaurant is absolutely top-notch! It's like receiving a Michelin star experience at the price of an all-you-can-eat buffet. Truly a culinary delight.
Unavailability on arrival.

I recently stayed at the Baseltor Hotel in Solothurn for a weekend getaway. The location of the hotel, in the heart of the old town, was absolutely fabulous. Our room, located in the old watch tower of the Baseltor, offered a wonderful view down the street and was surprisingly quiet and comfortable. Despite being next to a cathedral, the surroundings were peaceful. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, especially at the restaurant where they made an effort to speak English. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to museums, shops, and a cute market made it a convenient choice. I found the Baseltor Hotel to be a gem in Solothurn, with its welcoming atmosphere and cleanliness.
I do recommend this hotel.

Great location in the heart of the town and the breakfast offered was quite satisfying with a variety of options to choose from.
There was no air conditioning which made the warm summer conditions unbearable in the room. Even with a cooling fan, the room was still too hot and uncomfortable to stay in.

We had a great time exploring the beautiful city of Solothurn and the Baseltor Hotel & Restaurant was the perfect base for our family. The location was central and convenient, allowing us to easily walk around town and enjoy some shopping adventures. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. And the food! The restaurant on the ground floor served delicious meals, and we especially loved the lovely backyard seating area. But the highlight for us was definitely the amazing breakfast. There was a wide variety of fresh bread, mouthwatering Bircher muesli, and top-quality ham and cheeses. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed starting our days off with such a fantastic meal.
My children wanted a play area or some entertainment options for kids.
